New Release 2019: The Voice of The Pen ( collection of poetry ) African poetry

Today, the 7th January 2019, on the day of my 29-year birthday and New Year Address, it is my distinct privilege and high honor to present to you my new release chapbook entitled: The Voice of The Pen, my first collection of poetry ever to be published.

While I tell you why you should buy my book for only $2.99, let me borrow these quotes:

"There is no friend as loyal as a book." — Ernest Hemingway

"The world belongs to those who read."---Rick Holland

I want to do questionable things with you. Your words resuscitate me, bringing life back into me. Applied like an expert practitioner, my consciousness is revived. You are now part of me, your life force fused to mine. I chose to write on contemporary topics ranging from the long standing war in Syria and elsewhere in the world, the world refugee crises and international politics from Europe to Africa.  If I could give you a kiss on the cheek for every time I think about you, my lips would never leave your face for the joy of dignity I always feel having special readers like you.

  • SYNOPSIS/ ABOUT THE BOOK

The Voice of The Pen is a poetry work which centers on the coming of age in contemporary African poetry and is a collection of inspirational poems written by emerging young West African writer and scholar, Modou Lamin Age-Almusaf Sowe. Mr. Sowe’s collection, The Voice of The Pen, takes its title from his personal blog ( www.voiceofthepen.bogspot.com), and it depicts poetic evolution in Pan-africanism and the New Age-  while also questioning accepted truths about African and global politics, governance, African democracies, dictatorship, nationhood, and home.

The poems mythologize global governance in modern times and world leaders until they break open, using them to explore aspects of The Gambia's history of colonial occupation to dictatorship, the New Gambia, and the media. Several of the poems speak to the African leaders, whose governance is opposed to tribalism, corruption and dictatorship. Many of his poems speak about present world leaders, nuclear deals, global trade and commerce, leadership and governance.

Sowe explores Africanism and Africanness as a sign of inferiority, poverty, ignorance and corruption that is preventing Africa's development. Defining politics as (intellectual deception)and having a very different philosophical views about the existence and the misuse of democracy in Africa, Modou thinks about a New World re-imagined in the hands of just leaders, totally free from mental slavery and open dictatorship in organizations such as the UN, OAU, ECOWAS, etc.

My book is affordable, refundable and reasonably cheap. You might like to know there's a continent north of Africa, west of Asia, east of the Atlantic Ocean and south of the Arctic Ocean. It has such talented and intelligent natives. But those natives are destroying themselves by their current obsession with political correctness. My book will not only reveal to you that the richest man ever to walked this planet was Mansa Musa from Mali, but it will also tell you the Songhai Empire headed by Askia Mohammed  the Great and what is now known today as Mali, Mauritania, Guinea, Senegal, The Gambia, Northern Nigeria and Niger.
