The Young African Thinkers Convention ( YATC) 2018

Africa,  they say is the continent of pest and diseases, despite it being the richest continent on planet earth.  The continent has been raped for so long for its dark chocholate-colored soil and bounty of treasures . Today,  several villages and towns sit nestled between the hills or perched on their summits, overlooking forests of oak and chestnut, with abundant forests, good food and natural resources of all kinds;  why is AFRICA poor?
From meetings to meetings,
We met, and still meeting;
Lipsticks to chips,
They say talk is cheap.
As long as our continent is a dumping site meant for heaps, we remain divided and not guided , even when already united, the miles from the coast to the Nile.

Africa has been gossiped inside hills, spoken badly up in the silent sky,  its resources stolen,  still awakening to its dismay-- the media broadcast what we don't speak, the press distrust the rest and ask me WHAT next? They thought we're ignorant enough to still dress in leaves and accept anything made for us. But that was the age of colonialism and ignorance-- the young people in Africa are rising a call--not only in agriculture and sports,  but also youth culture. 2018 is the year of 'Mental Digital Shift ( MDS)' that bend the course of our history. On September 2015 in New York, a new framework for humanity- to tackle poverty, inequality and environmental destruction was produced. The other,  in December 2015 in Paris, to set new climate action targets crucial steps towards a safer planet. Suffice to even add that a Youth Charter was produced at the AU SUMMIT 2006 held in Banjul, The Gambia. To add salt to delicious African shameless soup, series of declarations have been made to still address challenges of the African youth, namely:

The Abuja Declaration 2001
The Quagadougou Declaration 2004
The Malabo Declaration 2011
The AU Youth DPoA 2009
The MPoA 2016
The TVET STRATEGY 2014, and many more.

Let me put it in the French adjectival and abverbial funnel of misinterpretation to defile the youth of your sensation for yet imagining the goal of my meditation. ' Qui- Who,  Quand-When, and Comment-How?  These three French words resonate the sight of shame and a remarkably indecent speech blurred by the airwaves of commotion into the very annals of progressive retrogression.

Who is going to tell the African youths that I said in my book, and I repeat, the stick that destroy the sight of a person,  the eye of the person cannot see it. When will they know the unknown known and the knowns unknown as my new book is already titled, and HOW  will they identify the awaited young man and woman who'll make Africa great again?  Very simple, through the Young African Thinkers Convention.

THINK: the Young African Thinkers ( YATC), the driving force of change, the brain of thinkers, the energy of innovation,  and the very barometer of hope behind the continent's political,  social,  cultural and economic tranformation, has this year held the largest most diverse convention to overcome the challenges that we the young people face to becoming agents of change for the Africa we want. The YAT Conventions are key to transforming our continent from being the source of raw materials, to being an industry of raw materials. The event this year was attended by the greatest young thinkers across the continent, who are themselves youth leaders meant to drive change for the betterment and well-being of Africa. The theme for the convention is : 'Understanding and Owning Africa's Identity Using the Creative Industry for effective messaging towards a one-generation turn-around." The overall goal of the convention is to achieve the aspiration 6 of AGENDA 2063 of the African Union  ( AU ) through investing in youth culture, way of thinking and identity. To secure ambitious outcomes in 2063, we NEED a drastic upturn in the levels of youth concern and action in changing the mindsets of the people and owning Africa's Identity. Giving the outstanding contributions made by the YATC Participants 2018 from across Africa, citing from its fiercely brilliant female and highly ambitious young women  participants of first-class probation,  ranging from artistic mediums: music,  photography, design, writing, film,  drama, poetry and blog,-- in addition to its deservedly highly praised and selfishly rich plenary and breakaway sessions; all speak volumes about how bright the future of Africa is in the hands of her youth. The silent little brother of hope that had been babysat on my think-end had reached to its climax of commendation. Educative, entertaining and informative are words reasonably cheap to define the energy and ideas woven by the very threads of brilliance to be sent to the African Union through the AU-Youth Division. We champion sharing and spreading SHARED VALUES OF LOVE, FORGIVENESS AND UNITY across the continent by its young people.  Any SOCIETY that neglect the voices of young people, will be left without a future. Essentially, Africa will soon be AFRIKA should I turn the letter 'c' which means corruption,  to the letter 'k' which means KNOWLEDGE; which itself define us as a people. We Africans are talented and can rebrand perspectives in any medium and channel specific messages to change the mindsets of our people who think quite low about our continent. The success of YATC 2018 is that it has increased awareness about tools to tranform mindsets, it has redefined and reinvigorated African identity, and have made each and every participant from across Africa to develop frameworks for projects they ( we) are expected to launch before the end of 2018.

LASTLY, I would like to place my mammoth gratitude on record , to both the Young African Thinkers ( YAT) and Beza International Ministries for kindly and graciously accepting me as a country representative of this year's auspicious occasion. Let me also register the vehement protestations of my unending gratitude to the entire management and staff of Nexus Hotel.

 READ THROUGH EVERY LINE TO IMAGINE WHAT DO I MEAN. IF YOU'RE NOT INTELLECTUAL,  YOU'LL HARDLY UNDERSTAND.

(_THiNK_)

I write more than I THINK
And think more than I WRITE-
Alright-  it's all RIGHT.
Success is not successful unless it's godly,
Rich is not richness but rich in ness,
Poverty is not poor but the poor are poor,
Importance is not important except GOD is in it;
Truth is a lie unless proven truthful.

It takes understanding to understand me;
But you can stand behind me, If you don't understand me.
YES, with YATC, I am a thinker.

Leadership is a bed,  only the laid knows the lay,
Fame is lame to blame and be ashamed,
Hatred is jealousy but kept in the heart and eye:
Politics is an intellectual deception.

Knowledge is not wisdom,
Intelligence is not intelligent,
LOVE is not love without true love:
A nation with tribalism, is already divided,
Africa without YATC is development in vain
Listen let me tell you how it rains,
Africa is not AFRICA unless it's AFRIKA.

When legendary was a legend,
It was you I used to defend
At YATC, eggs are hatched
To rebrand perspectives
For the Africa we want.

NOTE: The word "THiNk" with the small letter "i", means according to ME:

T-TEST of
H-HUMAN
I-IN
N-NATURAL
K-KNOWLEDGE
